Outfit Post #81: Retro Black with White Polka Dots

The black and white polka dot dress seems to be a staple in my wardrobe. I always have one. I think if I were rich, I’d have a collection of about 20 because I’m always drawn to them. I really liked this one’s retro neckline. And I love to pair it with my red mary jane pumps and a red lip. It’s a little bit saucy.

Outfit Post #80: Red Bikini

This is an exciting post because I think the word “fatkini” has had it’s day, and now all the fat girls are just wearing regular old bikinis like everyone else 🙂 All hail fat women in bikinis! Here’s my recent acquisition that I wore on holiday.

Bikini – Swimsuits for All
Cover up – Cactus via Addition Elle
Sunnies – Michael Kors

Outfit Post #79: Ring in the New

I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions. I feel like if I want to change something or make a new goal, I’ll just do it, that day, not wait for Jan. 1. But there is something special about starting a new year – a year that’s never been lived before and will never be lived again.

I recently took a trip to Seattle and stopped at the outlet mall along the way. It was super fun for this fashion lover! So many great stores, and so many great sales. Here are some of my finds.

Sweater – Forever 21+
Top (underneath sweater) – Sejour via Nordstrom
Jacket – Roz and Ali via Dress Barn
Jeans – William Rast via Addition Elle
Boots – Micheal Kors

Outfit Post #78: These Shoes

These shoes from Gucci were a big splurge for me. I’m not sure I would spend that kind of money again on a pair of shoes, but I am sure that they are beautiful.

Top – Marks and Spencer Skirt – Ricki’s Shoes – Gucci

Outfit Post #77: Ripped

This is my first pair of ripped jeans. The trend never got me in the 80’s or 90’s, but I’m getting ripped now. My dad loves to ask “Can’t you afford a pair of jeans without holes in them??” I love him.

Top – Ricki’s
Jeans – Love & Legend via Addition Elle
Shoes – Ugg

Usually I think Ugg shoes are pretty ugg, but these are my favorite wedges EVER.

Outfit Post #76: The Cold Shoulder

Cold shoulder and off-the-shoulder tops and dresses are very trendy right now. I have to say, I find the off-the-shoulder style kind of uncomfortable because you have to keep pulling down the shoulders. That said, I’ve only really tried one top, so I should probably do more research before drawing any conclusions. I find the cold shoulder style more comfortable and really like this top.

Top – Michel Studio via Addition Elle (I think)
Pants – Ricki’s
Shoes – Marks and Spencer
Bag – Michael Kors

Outfit Post #75: Fattitude

When you just got your hair done and you have a new dress and the weather is beautiful, you have to do a blog post.

Dress – Joseph Ribkoff via Bodacious
Shoes – French Connection via Saks Fifth Avenue Outlet
Sunglasses – Michael Kors

Outfit Post #74: Shapely Hips

I’ve talked about this before, but I like to try out different shapes and silhouettes even though my go-to is the fit and flare. I really liked the shape of this dress when I saw it online. I thought it was interesting, pretty, and oddly flattering, despite adding extra volume to the hips.  The print made me happy too.

Dress – City Chic via
Belt – Ricki’s
Boots – Franco Sarto via… can’t remember – sorry!

Outfit Post #73: Red is for Love

I meant to post this outfit for Valentine’s Day, but didn’t get my shit together. Fortunately, nothing bad has ever happened from someone being over a week late for Valentine’s Day. Am I right? 😉

Dress – City Chic via Nordstorm online
Shoes – Marc via Footloose

Speaking of love, this picture looks fake, but it’s a real picture of the real life duck couple that have taken residence in my apartment building’s pool. They’re always together. In the pool. Is anything more adorable?

Outfit Post #72: Baby, It’s Cold Outside!

We rarely get snow in my neck of the woods, but we’ve had a lot more than usual this winter. Fortunately, novel weather makes for new and exciting wardrobe possibilities, like the new toque I bought at a Christmas market (SO comfortable). I’m also sporting my new leggings from which honestly aren’t super warm, but are definitely super cute. I’m into the whole printed leggings thing and these are great.

Btw: I have, on more than one occasion, been confronted by a stranger in the street asking me “Did you really get that in New York??”, referring to my hoodie. For the record to those haters, yes, I surely did get it in NYC – so mind ya business! 😉

Hoodie – a souvenir store in NYC I can’t remember the name of
Leggings – Addition Elle
Shoes – Under Armour via Foot Locker (I think)
Bag – Bagallini via the BC Ferries gift shop (Queen of…I don’t know)
Toque, scarf, mitts – can’t remember names or places – sorry!
