Outfit Post #19: A Different Shape

I recently discovered an amazing plus size fashion blog curvy-canadian.com . How I managed to overlook it is beyond me. In reading the blog and tips from its creator, Karen, I was inspired to try a differently shaped dress. Because of my body type, I tend to gravitate towards dresses that come in at the waist and have worried about looking “boxy” in other styles. I’m so glad I followed Karen’s sage advice and went out of my comfort zone because when I found this dress I fell in love. Thanks Karen! I can’t wait to shop at your store Your Big Sister’s Closet!

  1. How do you make this boxier shape work? It works for me in some dresses but not in others. Do you know why?

    • For me, I find that a boxier shape works with lighter, flowier fabrics, like chiffon. Also, I think a sleek look in the leg, like tights with a high heel balances the outfit out.
