Outfit Post #32: Break the Rules, Crop the Top

When I was 13 years old, I lost a bunch of weight and decided I was ready for one of those elusive, for-thin-girls-only articles of clothing: the crop top. So, I took the bus to Mariposa and found myself a white, high-neck, sleeveless number that I thought was incredibly sexy and cool. I wore it only once, but man was I hot that day ;-). Since then I just assumed crop tops were not in the cards for me, much like bikinis. You know the rest of the story….

  1. So cute! I admire you for being so daring! You look sexy and amazing! Love that skirt! Love that top! I need to go to forever 21! Did you wear this to work? Can you sit down without … you know?

    • Thanks T! Forever 21 can definitely be hit and miss, but there’s a lot of (cheap!) hits. I didn’t wear this outfit to work. I think we have a new wardrobe policy that outlaws crop tops (no, not because of me!). But I did wear it to the movie theatre and I expected the top to ride up and expose my belly, but it didn’t. Basically, when I sat down my shirt and skirt came together so nothing was exposed. It was totally comfortable. I think wearing a skirt high on the waist and then only exposing a little midriff is the key to comfort…or at least it was for me 🙂
