Outfit Post #86: Mesh

When I started seeing mesh showing up in clothing recently I was definitely not excited. When I think of mesh, I think of teenage guys wearing cropped football jerseys in the 80’s. I definitely don’t think sophistication or femininity. But, when I saw this dress I started to come around. Although I haven’t liked most of the mesh I’ve seen out there recently, I think this dress proves that it can be used in a classy, feminine way. It’s a good lesson to be open to all different textures and fabrics because you might just be surprised.

Outfit Post #85: Heat

I found this adorable bikini top at Swimco and, because it’s been so hot, decided to pair it with everything on my recent holiday.

Outfit Post #84: Blue and White

I almost never wear blue, along with orange, green, and yellow. Not because I don’t like those colors, but because I’m much more drawn to neutrals, as well as pinks, purples, and reds. Very girly, I suppose. That said, I love finding a piece in one of my less-worn colors that I like because it’s nice to do something different. I wasn’t sure about this dress at first, but the colors, pockets, comfortability, femininity, and adorable bow detail on the back has quickly made it one of my favorites.

Outfit Post #83: Pockets and Polka Dots

I’ve bought a few new dresses recently and they all have pockets which, let’s face it, is the best. What’s in those pockets you ask? Nothing. But if I need to put something in my dress, you better believe I can.

Outfit Post #82: Ruffle Sleeve

The ruffle sleeve is one of my favorites, so the fact that it’s trending right now is great for me. I have a black ruffle sleeve top from about 10 years ago that I bought from The Gap and I can’t get rid of it because I love it so much. At the time, it was a rare find. These days there are so many great options in both tops and dresses, and I’m taking full advantage!

Outfit Post #81: Retro Black with White Polka Dots

The black and white polka dot dress seems to be a staple in my wardrobe. I always have one. I think if I were rich, I’d have a collection of about 20 because I’m always drawn to them. I really liked this one’s retro neckline. And I love to pair it with my red mary jane pumps and a red lip. It’s a little bit saucy.

Outfit Post #80: Red Bikini

This is an exciting post because I think the word “fatkini” has had it’s day, and now all the fat girls are just wearing regular old bikinis like everyone else 🙂 All hail fat women in bikinis! Here’s my recent acquisition that I wore on holiday.

Outfit Post #79: Ring in the New

I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions. I feel like if I want to change something or make a new goal, I’ll just do it, that day, not wait for Jan. 1. But there is something special about starting a new year – a year that’s never been lived before and will never be lived again.

I recently took a trip to Seattle and stopped at the outlet mall along the way. It was super fun for this fashion lover! So many great stores, and so many great sales. Here are some of my finds.

Outfit Post #78: These Shoes

These shoes from Gucci were a big splurge for me. I’m not sure I would spend that kind of money again on a pair of shoes, but I am sure that they are beautiful.

Outfit Post #77: Ripped

This is my first pair of ripped jeans. The trend never got me in the 80’s or 90’s, but I’m getting ripped now. My dad loves to ask “Can’t you afford a pair of jeans without holes in them??” I love him.

Usually I think Ugg shoes are pretty ugg, but these are my favorite wedges EVER.
